Lockdown in Thakek, Laos (April – July 2020)
Created during the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic and after a near-death experience that revealed to me the essence of existence.
This period is about exploring what’s deep underneath all the layers of personal experience and the self.. the driving force behind all our thoughts and emotions.. what makes us “human”.
During this time I was using colors and materials that I don’t normally use. There weren’t art supply stores around so I did what I could with the materials I found. This period truly symbolizes solitary deep vulnerable exploration without having even the remains of a comfort zone.
